The program will provide students with computational thinking skills and the knowledge they need to advance scientific computing throughout their careers.

Selected students will be paired with a team that is conducting petascale computing research; they will receive a stipend of up to $5,000, will attend a two-week intensive workshop (May 29-June 10 at NCSA), and will receive support for travel to the SC11 conference and education program in Seattle in November.

Students and faculty can apply for the program by March 31, 2011, at http://shodor.org/petascale/participation/internships/.

The Blue Waters Undergraduate Petascale Education Program is a joint effort of the National Computational Science Institute, the Great Lakes Consortium for Petascale Computation, and NCSA.
